K. Why are my results not the same as my signal providers results?

There are multiple reasons as to why your trading results don’t match your signal providers results.

Incorrect EA settings and different lot sizes

The copier settings could be different from signal provider’s strategy. Make sure that the copier signal following settings match with your signal providers.

It is important that the customer understand how each setting affects trading performance. If in doubt, you can refer EA settings sections or drop a message to the support team.

Different account type , broker, leverage

Metatrader brokers provide various types of MT4/5 accounts such as Dealing Desk(DD), Non-Dealing Desk(NDD), Micro, Nano, Cent etc. these accounts have different execution styles, spreads, commissions, stop levels etc.

Examples:

1. A high spread and high commission accounts usually results in lower profits.

2. Accounts with minimum stop levels are unable to place tight stoplosses and takeprofit levels. This could affect performance in scalping and moving the stoploss to breakeven point.

Step 1: Identify what exactly is different

It is important to find out how your results are different from your signal provider’s. Make sure to compare the following items and identify exactly what is different.

1. Trade open price and closing price
2. Trade open date/time and closing date/time
3. How the trade is closed. (SL hit/TP hit/Manual close)
4. Lot size & currency pair.
5. Make sure the channel and signal ID matches with the trade. Refer this link on how to find corresponding Signal ID.

Step 2: Applying solutions

Once the differences are identified, following are some suggestions to mitigate the issues.

1. Check signal provider's trade opening time and time the signal was sent. If they do not match, inquire from your signal provider about it and seek advice.
2. Try to match broker and account type with signal provider to minimize price differences.
3. Try other Open modes under EA settings > Trading options to achieve accurate open prices.
4. Re-check EA settings to see whether an important setting is not set properly.
